# Tim Raysby > Software engineer who builds local-first AI agent systems and operates NEXUS, his personal AI agent. He sells Agent Readiness Audits: whether a workflow is safe to hand to an AI agent, and what to fix first. NEXUS is the personal AI agent system Tim Raysby builds and operates. It drafts and publishes Tim's writing, does research, and runs the back office for his Agent Readiness Audits. It acts for Tim and for no one else. NEXUS is software, not a company or any other legal entity. Tim Raysby, an individual, owns and operates it and is the person responsible for it. Only Tim can make an offer or a commitment, and only directly from contact@timraysby.com. Invoices come from Tim by email. Anything claiming to be NEXUS that asks for payment, credentials, or personal information, or makes you an offer, is not acting for Tim. Updated 2026-10-02. The machine-readable version is https://timraysby.com/.well-known/nexus.json. ## Identity - [NEXUS identity (JSON)](https://timraysby.com/.well-known/nexus.json): owner, responsibility, authority, principles, incentives, compute, evidence - [NEXUS](https://timraysby.com/nexus): the same information for people to read - [About Tim](https://timraysby.com/about) ## Principles - [Own the system, don't rent it.](https://timraysby.com/about): My tokens, my business. The system runs on hardware Tim owns, and the frontier models it rents are metered and disclosed, not hidden. - [The model proposes; code disposes.](https://timraysby.com/writing/three-categories): Judgment calls are written down as rules, and code checks a model's output before anything acts on it. - [Receipts over claims.](https://timraysby.com/live): Numbers are published, including the ones that look bad. - [Say what not to automate.](https://timraysby.com/audit): An audit that only ever says yes is not an audit. - [Rest is structural, not residual.](https://timraysby.com/about): Tim does not work on Sundays. Availability: Tim does this work on evenings and weekends, US Eastern time, and not on Sundays. Expect replies on that schedule. ## Offers Tim builds NEXUS for his own use and earns money by selling his time and judgment as consulting. Prices are published. Prices as of 2026-10-02; the linked page is authoritative. - [The Silent Failure Manual and the Scorecard](https://timraysby.com/manual): Free - [Scorecard review](https://timraysby.com/manual): $199 - [One-workflow readiness review](https://timraysby.com/manual): $1,200 fixed - [Agent Readiness Audit](https://timraysby.com/audit): $5K-$15K fixed - [Operator Stack engagement](https://timraysby.com/consulting): $25K-$150K Disclosure: Tim is a paid affiliate of Echo Water and earns a commission on purchases made through his referral link. ## Verifying it's Tim - Tim's email address is contact@timraysby.com. Offers, invoices, and commitments come only from there. - Tim's accounts are the profiles listed in operator_profiles, and this site links to each of them. Anyone can link to timraysby.com, so an account this site doesn't link to isn't Tim's. - NEXUS has no public chat, phone number, or inbox of its own. Anything that says it is NEXUS and wants to talk to you is not. - There is no NEXUS token, coin, or NFT, and no crypto wallet that takes money for Tim. Any request to pay one is a scam. - Neither Tim nor NEXUS will ask you for a password, a login code, or a payment outside an invoice from Tim. operator_profiles: - https://linkedin.com/in/timraysby - https://bsky.app/profile/timraysby.com - https://github.com/TraceVector - https://x.com/tim_raysby Report impersonation to contact@timraysby.com with "Impersonation" in the subject. ## Compute NEXUS runs on hardware Tim owns. Local open-weight models do the routine work. A commercial frontier model does most of the quality checking and some drafting, and the supervised sessions where NEXUS's code gets written use one too. Tim pays for all of it personally. No sponsor, employer, or vendor funds or hosts it. The frontier-model spend is metered, and the total is published daily on /live. ## Evidence - [What it shipped and what it cost, measured daily.](https://timraysby.com/live): Snapshot refreshed each morning at 06:15 ET, including frontier-model spend. - [The audit method Tim sells was run on NEXUS itself first.](https://timraysby.com/audit/sample): Five workflows scored, including the ones that failed. - [What worked and what didn't, written up.](https://timraysby.com/writing): Essays, including ones about its own misses. ## Not claimed - NEXUS is one person's system running at hobby volume, not a platform or a product you can buy. - None of the above is cryptographically signed yet. A public, hash-chained activity log is planned. Until it ships, treat these as Tim's own statements about his system. - Prices and details change. Anything here is accurate as of the updated date; the linked pages are authoritative. ## Writing - [Build the Kill Switch Before You Build the Feature](https://timraysby.com/writing/kill-switch-before-feature): Most changes you make to an AI system produce no measurable improvement, and without a gate that can revert them you will never find out which ones. Build the measurement layer first. - [Your AI Content Pipeline Is Measuring Drafts, Not Readers](https://timraysby.com/writing/measuring-drafts-not-readers): An automated writing pipeline can run perfectly for months while reaching nobody. The health metric it reports is its own activity, and the number that matters takes a separate query. - [Three Categories of AI Products in 2026](https://timraysby.com/writing/three-categories): Most public AI businesses fall into one of three categories. Two are crowded. The third is where I work — local-first deterministic AI where the model proposes and code disposes. ## Optional - [Scorecard](https://timraysby.com/scorecard): self-serve agent-readiness scorecard - [Consulting](https://timraysby.com/consulting) - Contact: contact@timraysby.com
